SYMPTOMS

When you try to send a message to a distribution list (DL), you may receive the following error message:
Personal Distribution List must contain at least one member

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the DL is disassociated from the members that are stored in the Contacts folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, re-associate the DL to the members that are stored in the Contacts folder. To do this:
  1. In the Shared folder, open the Distribution List.
  2. Click Update Now.
  3. Click Try to repair lost members.
If the members of the DL are stored in the same shared folder, they are re-associated with the DL.

MORE INFORMATION

The DL is contained in a Contacts folder that is shared with Net Folders. When you open the DL, it displays the members that it contains. If you double-click any of the member names, you receive an error message that the member cannot be found.
