The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SideWinder Strategic Commander
This article was previously published under Q272561 SYMPTOMS
Microsoft Windows and other programs may behave strangely while the
Microsoft SideWinder Strategic Commander game controller is connected
to the computer.
For example, actions that are associated with keystrokes may occur
unexpectedly.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the SideWinder Strategic Commander game
controller is not calibrated correctly.
RESOLUTION
If the SideWinder Strategic Commander game controller is not calibrated
correctly (is calibrated off-centered), the navigation assignments in the
current profile may constantly be replayed when you use Windows or other
programs.
To resolve this issue, disconnect the SideWinder Strategic Commander game
controller from the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port in the computer, make
sure that the game controller is able to center itself, and then reconnect
the game controller to the USB port.
To prevent this issue from occurring, make sure that the SideWinder
Strategic Commander game controller is centered before you connect it to a
USB port or before you start your computer with the controller connected.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft SideWinder Strategic Commander.
