Installing IIS from Add/Remove Programs Tool Prompts for Windows 2000 CD-ROM (272498)

SYMPTOMS

If you are using the Hebrew slipstream version CD-ROM, and you try to install Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) in the Add/Remove Programs tool, you may be prompted to insert your Windows 2000 Professional CD-ROM.

CAUSE

The IIS installation .inf files are searching for the wrong disk.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, and then click the Windows Components tab.
  3. Click to select the Internet Information Services (IIS) check box, and then click OK.
  4. When "Enter Disk" is displayed, click OK.
  5. After the Files Needed dialog box appears, click Browse, and then click Locate File. The Admxprox.dl_ file is displayed in the File Name list, and then click OK.
  6. After the Files Needed dialog appears, click OK and then IIS continues to install.
