OL2000: The Item Is Saved in Your Drafts Folder When You Reply to a Post Form (272405)

SYMPTOMS

When you reply to a customized post form, the new post item that is displayed is associated with your Outbox and, when it is posted, the new item is saved in your Drafts folder.

CAUSE

You are using Outlook 2000 SR1. This behavior does not occur with Microsoft Outlook 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior use one of the following steps:

WORKAROUND

You may be able to work around this behavior by creating a Visual Basic for Applications or COM add-in solution that monitors the Drafts folder for items that have your custom message class field. After you do this, you can programmatically move the items to the correct folder. Conversation-related fields are still valid when you use this approach and the item appears in the proper conversation.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
