The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5
This article was previously published under Q272336 SYMPTOMS
When you add the Windows 2000 Fax Update to Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) version 4.5, the fax printer Fax-W2K is created, but it is not available when you try to administer it through the SBS console under More Tasks in Manage Faxes.
CAUSE
The printer driver for the Windows 2000 fax printer contains information that may cause the SBS console to list this printer as a non-Microsoft Fax print device.
RESOLUTION
To administer rights to use this fax printer, in the SBS console, click Manage Printers, and then click Tasks. Add the users who should have access to the fax service.
MORE INFORMATION
When you configure a new Windows 2000 client computer in the SBS console, you can assign Fax-W2K fax printer rights by using the wizard that starts when you click Set up a computer located under More Tasks in Manage Computers.
