SUMMARY

This article is about Microsoft Windows Media Player's Radio Tuner feature and how it can be used to find audio content on the Internet. The Radio Tuner feature can access radio stations from around the world.

MORE INFORMATION

You can press the TAB key to move around, press the ENTER key to select the item in the Radio Tuner feature, and press the arrow keys to navigate the menus.

The Radio Tuner feature contains a live Web page that is hosted by the WindowsMedia.com Web site. You can search for a specific station if you use the Station Finder feature located on the right side of the default interface. The location of this feature may vary depending on the interface that is used with the player.

You can configure and select radio stations based on the following options:
  • Format: This enables you to select music based on the type of format or genre, such as: CNN, Oldies, Police Scanners, Religious, or Rock.
  • Band: Your choices here are AM, FM, or Internet Only.
  • Language: You can select from 23 languages.
  • Location: You can select from 33 countries, including all of the states in the United States.
  • Call sign: You can select a radio station by the call letters for a station. (Type the call letters into the text box provided, and then click Find.)
  • Frequency: You can select a radio station by its frequency. (Type the frequency into the text box provided, and then click Find.)
  • Keyword: If a station you want to find uses a tag line such as, "The Station that uses 10,000 Disk Jockeys," you can search using words in that tag line.

To create a list of preset radio stations:

  1. Under Presets, click the DOWN ARROW key.
  2. Click My Presets.
  3. Click Search in the right pane to find the radio stations that you want to add to your preset list.
  4. In the Advanced Station Search dialog box, enter any information that you want to use to find the radio stations, and then click Find.
  5. Click the radio station you want, and then click Add.
Repeat Steps 3 to 5 for as many radio stations as you want to add to your preset list.

NOTE: Since the Radio Tuner feature contains a live Web page, the process for adding radio stations may change without notice.
