With the Channel Transcription extension, you can save public messages that are sent from all of the channels on a server to a text file for subsequent viewing.

To transcribe conversations in all channels in the chat community:
  1. Start Exchange System Manager:

    Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.

  2. Navigate to the IRCX folder for the server that is hosting the chat community from which you want to transcribe conversations on all channels. This should be under the following folder:

    Administrative Groups\Administrative Group\servername\Protocols

  3. Right-click the IRCX folder, and then click Properties.
  4. In the IRCX properties on the General tab, click the chat community from which you want to transcribe conversations, click Properties, and then click Extensions.

    Note: On the chat community's Extensions tab, you will see a list of all of the extensions that are installed for the chat community.
  5. If the Channel Transcription extension (TScript) does not appear, click Add.
  6. In the Add Extension dialog box, click the Channel Transcription extension.
  7. In the Extensions box, verify that the Channel Transcription extension appears and that it is selected, and then click Properties.
  8. On the General tab of the Community TScript Properties dialog box, under Transcribe by default:
    1. Click to select the New persistent channels check box to transcribe the conversations in all registered channels in the chat community.
    2. Click to select the New dynamic channels check box to transcribe the conversations in all dynamic channels in the chat community.
Tip: You can also start transcribing conversations in all registered channels using the following command from a chat client:

extmsg tscript start persistent
