This article was previously published under Q271761 SYMPTOMS When you try to remove one of the Microsoft programs that is listed
in the "Applies To" section, you may receive the following error message:
Setup is unable to find the works services file.
If you click OK, you receive the following error message: Canceling the Installation Wizard
The Installation Wizard was
interrupted before Microsoft Picture It! product
could be completely installed.
To install Microsoft Picture It!
product at a later time, insert the disc into the
disc drive. On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type the name of the disc drive you are using, followed by
setup.exe (for example: G:\pip\setup.exe).
To exit the Installation
Wizard, click Finish. CAUSE This behavior can occur if you removed one of the programs
listed at the beginning of this article without using the Add/Remove Programs
tool in Microsoft Windows.
RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior, reinstall the Microsoft program
that you are trying to remove, and then remove the program by using the
Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.
