Works Error Message: Wksdb Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module User.exe (271688)

When you start Microsoft Works 2000 Database by using a Microsoft Works 2000 Task Launcher task, such as Home Inventory, you may receive the following error message:
Wksdb caused an invalid page fault in module User.exe.
CAUSE
This issue may occur if both the following conditions are true:
- The video adapter that is installed in your computer is based on the nVidia Riva TNT chipset.
- The Epson Color Stylus 600 printer driver is installed on your computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, remove all of the printer drivers that are installed on your computer, and then install the Epson LQ 2500 printer driver. To do this, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.
Remove All Printer Drivers
To remove all printer drivers:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Right-click the Epson Stylus 600 printer icon, and then click Delete.
- Repeat step 2 for each printer that is displayed in the Printers folder.
- Close the Printers folder, and then restart the computer.
Install the Epson LQ 2500 Printer Driver
To install the Epson LQ 2500 printer driver:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Double-click Add Printer.
- Click Next.
- Click Local printer or Network printer, and then click Next.
- In the Manufacturers box, click Epson.
- In the Printers box, click Epson LQ-2500.
- Click Next.
- Click the port where you want to use the printer, and then click Next.
- Type a name for the printer, and then click Next.
- Click Finish.
If this issue continues to occur, continue to the next method.
Reduce Graphics Hardware Acceleration in Microsoft Windows
To reduce graphics hardware acceleration in Windows:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click System.
- Click the Performance tab, and then click Graphics.
- Move the Hardware Acceleration slider until it is one notch to the right of None (the Basic acceleration setting).
- Click OK, and then click Close.
- When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
Note If you experience any problems after you reduce graphics hardware acceleration, follow these steps to restore graphics hardware acceleration to the original setting:
- Restart Windows in Safe mode. To do this, follow the appropriate steps for your operating system.
Microsoft Windows 98
Restart your computer, press and hold down the CTRL key when your computer
completes the Power On Self Test (POST), and then select Safe Mode on the Startup menu.
Microsoft Windows 95
Restart the computer. When you see the "Starting Windows 95" message, press the F8 key, and then select Safe Mode on the Startup menu.
- When Windows starts in Safe mode, click OK.
- Repeat steps 1 through 6, but in step 4 move the Hardware Acceleration slider
back to its original position.
