This article describes how to add pictures that are stored on removable media (such as a CD-ROM or a DVD-ROM) to the Gallery.

To add a clip that is located on removable media to the Gallery, use one of the following methods.

For the 2002 version of any product(s) listed above, follow these steps:
  1. On the Open & Edit tab, click Organize the Gallery.
  2. Click Add items to the Gallery.
  3. Insert a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or other media that contains your pictures.
  4. In the Look for items in box, browse to the location of your pictures.
  5. Double-click the picture that you want.NOTE: When you select a picture, a blue outline appears around the picture.

  6. You are prompted with the following dialog box:

    Please enter some information about this disc, so we can help you find it later.

    In the Friendly name field, type a name that you want, and then click OK.
  7. Click a category for the picture and add any keywords that you want. You can also add a date or date range to the picture.
  8. Click Apply.NOTE: To indicate that the picture is in the Gallery, a yellow folder with a blue check mark appears in the lower-right corner of the picture.

  9. Click Done.NOTE: You cannot change a friendly name after you add your picture to the Gallery.

  2. Click Add items to the Gallery.
