Intel USB Video Camera Does Not Work After Upgrading to Windows Me (271526)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
This article was previously published under Q271526 SYMPTOMS
After you upgrade to Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may not be able to access the Intel USB Video Camera III (CS330) through the My Pictures folder.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows 98 drivers for the Intel CS330 camera that are supplied by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) are not upgraded by default. OEM drivers do not function with Windows Image Aquisition (WIA).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, upgrade the Intel CS330 drivers to the drivers provided with Windows Me. To do this, follow these steps: - In Control Panel, double-click System, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
- Locate the Intel USB Video Camera III. (If Intel drivers are currently installed, the camera is listed in the Sound, video, and game controllers group.)
- Click the camera listing, and then click the Driver tab.
- Click Update Driver. This action starts the Update Device Driver Wizard.
- Click to select Specify the location of the driver (Advanced) and click Next.
- Click to select Specify a list of all the drivers in a specified location, so you can select the driver you want and click Next.
- Click Intel USB Video Camera III (Microsoft) (6-8-2000) and click Next.
- Click Next to complete the driver installation.
MORE INFORMATION
The Intel USB Video Camera III may be packaged as the Intel CS330 or as the Intel Create and Share USB Camera.
