Windows Media Player 7 Media Guide May Not Be Displayed (271486)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Windows Media Player 7, the program guide may not be displayed and you may see a page titled "Action canceled."

CAUSE

This issue can occur if Content Advisor is enabled on your computer because the http://www.windowsmedia.com Web page that Windows Media Player uses when it starts has no rating.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, disable Content Advisor:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
  2. On the Content tab, click Disable in the Content Advisor section.
  3. When you are prompted, type the appropriate password.
