XADM: Active Directory Connector Does Not Copy Country Field to Active Directory (271469)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q271469 SYMPTOMS
When you configure the Active Directory Connector (ADC) to replicate directory information from Exchange Server 5.5 to Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory, the Country field of an Exchange Server 5.5 mailbox does not replicate to the Country/Region field of an Active Directory entry. The Country/Region field in Active Directory remains blank for replicated Exchange Server 5.5 users.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the country information in Active Directory is spread across the following three different attributes:
- Country (c): This contains the country abbreviation.
- Country-Code (countryCode): This is the field that is displayed as Country/Region in the Properties dialog box of an Active Directory user. It contains the country code.
- Country-Name (co): This is the full name of the country and is populated by the ADC when replicating a user's attributes from the Exchange Server 5.5 directory. You can view the Country-Name attribute in the user's properties by using a MAPI client that is connected to an Exchange 2000 server.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
