XCON: "Invalid ADSI Pathname" Error Message When Creating a Routing Group Connector on a Remote Routing Group (271329)

When you create a Routing Group Connector, if you have special characters in the name of the connector, you cannot create the connector in the remote routing group. The following are examples of these special characters:
- , (comma)
- . (period)
- / (slash mark)
- ; (semicolon)
- ' (apostrophe)
When you are prompted to create the Routing Group Connector in the remote routing group, after you click Yes, the following error message is displayed:
An invalid ADSI pathname was passed.

WORKAROUND
To create a Routing Group Connector with a name that contains the special characters that are listed in the "Symptoms" section of this article, manually create the Routing Group Connector in the remote Routing Group.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
