SYMPTOMS

When you install the Microsoft IntelliType Pro software, you may receive the following error message:
IntelliType Pro Setup found another keyboard program on your computer, which may prevent your keyboard from working correctly. We recommend that you uninstall the program before continuing with the IntelliType Pro Setup. If you choose not to uninstall the program, then your keyboard may not work correctly.
When you dismiss this error message, the Setup program quits.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if third-party multimedia keyboard software is installed on the computer.

Note This software is typically installed when a multimedia keyboard is provided with an OEM computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, uninstall the third-party multimedia keyboard software that is installed on the computer, and then reinstall the IntelliType Pro software.
