PPT2001: Animation Order Changes When Settings for a Multiple Selection Are Changed (271115)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Macintosh
This article was previously published under Q271115 SYMPTOMS
The animations applied to different text and graphic objects can be set to occur in a specific order in a presentation. The default order for the effects is the order that you initially assign to them.
If you select more than one text object and change the custom entry animation for the multiple selection, the order of the effects changes, and the text objects in the multiple selection are unexpectedly placed last in the animation sequence.
CAUSE
Because you select multiple objects, you are in fact overriding the original settings and creating a new animation. This action automatically places the multiple objects (that you selected) at the end of the animation sequence.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
To work around this behavior, change the text options for only one object at a time.
