SYMPTOMS

When you apply an animation to a graphic object in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, the graphic with its animation is correctly displayed in the presentation when you view the slide show. However, if you save the presentation as a PowerPoint Movie, the graphic does not maintain its correct final position when you play the movie.

This occurs for the following graphic types:
  • Picture files larger than 128 kilobytes (KB).
  • WordArt objects.

WORKAROUND

You can turn off animations in PowerPoint Movies. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Mac, and open the presentation that you want to save as a movie.
  2. On the File menu, click Make Movie.
  3. In the Save dialog box, click Adjust settings, and then click Next.
  4. Under Media Settings, click to clear the Show animations check box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
