PPT2001: Mouse Over Action Settings Do Not Work in PowerPoint Movies (271102)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Macintosh

This article was previously published under Q271102

SYMPTOMS

Text or graphic objects can be set to perform certain actions in the slide show when you pause the mouse on them without clicking. These actions are called "mouse over" effects. However, if you save such a presentation as a PowerPoint Movie, the mouse over effects do not work when you play the movie with the QuickTime player.

CAUSE

When the PowerPoint Movie is played back, such interactive features as mouse over effects are not tracked by QuickTime, and therefore are ignored.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
