The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Macintosh

This article was previously published under Q271100

SYMPTOMS

The following behavior can occur when you create a movie presentation containing multiple slides, and in the final slide, you apply the Last Slide Viewed hyperlink to any object. When you view the movie presentation in PowerPoint or in QuickTime, the hyperlink does not work.

NOTE: This problem only occurs if the Last Slide Viewed hyperlink is used on the final slide of a movie presentation. The problem does not occur if one of the other available hyperlinks (such as Previous Slide) is used, or if the hyperlink is to a URL on the Internet.

CAUSE

The problem occurs because the hyperlink Last Slide Viewed is not supported in Movie format.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, on the final slide of the presentation, use one of the other available hyperlinks, (such as Previous Slide) instead of using the hyperlink Last Slide Viewed.

To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In PowerPoint, open the final slide of your presentation.
  2. On the Slide Show menu, click Action Settings.

NOTE: The slide must contain an object for Action Settings to be available.
  3. Click Hyperlink to. In the Hyperlink to box, choose the animation you want to use. (Do not choose Last Slide Viewed.) Click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
