PPT2001: Omitted Background Graphics Remain Visible in PowerPoint Movie Format (271098)

In any slide for which the Omit background graphics from master option is selected, the background graphics elements remain visible when the slide is viewed in Microsoft PowerPoint Movie.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because common components, such as the background elements of the Slide Master, are retained in a background layer of the movie file. Because of this design strategy (which reduces the final size of a PowerPoint Movie file), these elements are always displayed during a PowerPoint Movie.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, create a rectangle to cover the slide that you want to omit the background objects from, and set the rectangle's color to exactly match the color of the Slide Master background. To do so, follow these steps:
- Click the Rectangle tool on the Drawing toolbar.
- Draw a square of the same size as the slide.
- Click Autoshape on the Format menu.
- For the Fill color, click Background in the Color drop-down box.
- For the Line color, click No Line in the Color drop-down box, and then click OK.
- On the Draw menu, point to Arrange, and then click Send to Back.
The background is now hidden and cannot be seen during a PowerPoint Movie.
