PPT2001: PowerPoint Movie Recorded Narration Truncated If Slide Timings Not Saved (271097)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Macintosh
This article was previously published under Q271097 SYMPTOMS
When you record a narration with a Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Mac presentation, then create a PowerPoint Movie with that presentation, and you then view the movie, the narration may be truncated on some slides.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the slide timings are not saved.
When you finish recording a narration the following (or similar) confirmation message appears:
The narrations have been saved with each slide. Do you want to save the slide timings also?
If you click No, then each slide is displayed in the movie with an equal amount of time. If the narration lasts longer than the default slide timing, the narration of that slide is truncated.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, click Yes when the confirmation message appears after you record a narration.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Mac.
