PPT2001: Multilevel Bullets with Entry and Exit Effects Are Not Animated in Movie (271091)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Macintosh
This article was previously published under Q271091 SYMPTOMS
If you create a movie presentation containing multilevel bulleted text that has entry or exit animation effects, when you view the movie presentation in PowerPoint or in the QuickTime Movie Player, the entry and exit effects are animated all at once, not one at time. Or, they are not animated at all.
CAUSE
The multilevel text effect is only supported in the native PowerPoint format. QuickTime is not capable of animating individual lines of text within a movie file.
RESOLUTION
One method to work around this limitation of QuickTime is to use separate text frames containing the text you want to animate individually. That is, if you have the following:
- Line one
- Line two
- Line three
If you want to animate down to second-level bullets, create four text frames:
- One containing "Line one."
- Another containing "Line two."
- A third containing "Sub-line two," with the text frame offset to the right to give it the appropriate staggered appearance of bulleted text.
- The last text frame containing "Line three".
Each frame would be assigned an entry and exit animation, then when you save it as a PowerPoint Movie file, the text will be animated separately.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
