In Microsoft PowerPoint 2001, neither picture animations with sound effects nor slide transitions with sound effects play as expected when you save your presentation as a PowerPoint Movie.
However, when you open the movie file in PowerPoint, and then view the movie as a Slide Show, the sounds play as expected.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
