Audio and Video Do Not End at the Same Time in the File (270900)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 7
- Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 7.1
This article was previously published under Q270900 SYMPTOMS
When you play back an .asf or .wmv file, the audio continues to play for several seconds after the video has stopped.
CAUSE
This problem is usually caused by stopping a transcoding (file conversion) session while the file is still being transcoded.
RESOLUTION
Let the file conversion finish before you stop the Encoder. If necessary, the file can then be brought into an .asf or .wmv editor to be edited to the desired length.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows Media Encoder version 7.0.
