The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000
  • Microsoft NetMeeting 3.01 for Windows 2000

This article was previously published under Q270268

SUMMARY

This article describes the inability of NetMeeting to accept incoming calls when Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server is installed.

MORE INFORMATION

When ISA Server is installed on a Windows 2000-based server that is running NetMeeting, NetMeeting does not accept incoming calls. This behavior can occur because both ISA Server and NetMeeting use port 1720.

Only NetMeeting is affected if it is run on the same computer as ISA Server. ISA Server capabilities and security are not affected and internal computer clients can use NetMeeting by means of ISA Server without encountering any difficulties.

When NetMeeting is installed on ISA Server, NetMeeting is still able to initiate outgoing calls.
