SYMPTOMS
When you import data from a FileMaker Pro database, you can set an option in the External Data Range properties to make Microsoft Excel prompt you for the file name each time that you refresh the data. However, the Prompt for file name on refresh option does not remain selected, and you are not prompted for the file name when you refresh the data.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Excel does not prompt users for a FileMaker Pro file name when the data is refreshed, and the Prompt for file name on refresh option is erroneously available when you import a FileMaker Pro file.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac.
