"Show Top 10" AutoFilter option does not flter Excel for Mac worksheet rows (270074)

When you apply AutoFilter to worksheet columns, and you attempt to display a subset of rows by using the Show Top 10 option, Microsoft Excel for Mac may simply beep and not return any results.
CAUSE
The Show Top 10 option of the AutoFilter feature does not work with alphanumeric data. It works only with numeric data.
