XL2001: Shortcut Menu Does Not Appear When You Drag a List Using CONTROL Key (270072)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac
This article was previously published under Q270072 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac, when you drag a list with the mouse pointer while holding down the CONTROL key, and you then drop the list, a shortcut menu does not appear as expected.
You expect a shortcut menu to appear because when you drag objects (such as charts or pictures) while holding down the CONTROL key, and then drop the objects, a shortcut menu (containing Copy Here, Move Here, and Cancel) does appear.
MORE INFORMATION
In Excel 2001 for Mac, dragging a list is much the same as dragging a group of cells, and as a result, a shortcut menu does not appear when you drag a list while holding down the CONTROL key. Dragging a list is not the same as dragging an object such as a chart or a picture.
