Works Stops Responding When You Drag a Picture from Portfolio to Word Processor with Headers or Footers (269996)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 6
- Microsoft Works 7.0
This article was previously published under Q269996 SYMPTOMS
If you drag a picture from the Microsoft Works Portfolio into the body of a Microsoft Works Word Processor document, Works Word Processor may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This problem can occur if you add a header and footer to a Works Word Processor document and the header and footer contain enough text and pictures to significantly reduce the size of the main body of the document. When you drag a picture into the body of a document that has a header and a footer, and the picture is too tall to fit between the header and footer, Works Word Processor stops responding.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, create the body of the Works Word Processor document before you add the header and footer, and then resize the picture so that it is small enough to fit between the header and footer that you are going to add to the document.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
