Works: Table Changes Occur When You Drag a Table and Text Below Another Table (269995)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 6
- Microsoft Works 7.0
This article was previously published under Q269995 SYMPTOMS
When you create two or more tables in a Microsoft Works Word Processor document, and you then drag the first table below another table in the same document, unexpected behavior may occur. For example, the top line of a table may disappear, tables may appear to be joined, or an entire table row may disappear.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if a table, along with any conjoined text, is dragged to the very first line below another table.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, always leave at least one blank line between two tables. If you drag a table into position below another table, and the table that you are dragging has text conjoined to the top of the table, drop the table and text in the second blank line below the table rather than the first line. This method leaves a blank line between the tables.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
To drag a table, you must select at least one text line (a blank line is okay) above and below the table.
