WD2001: Word Stops Responding When You Click AutoText (269937)

When you click Autotext on the Insert menu after booting the computer from a System CD-ROM, Microsoft Word 2001 for the Mac may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when the computer has been booted from a locked (non-writable) startup disk, such as a CD-ROM.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, boot the computer from an internal hard disk.

You can use a CD-ROM that has a System folder on it to start a Macintosh computer by holding down the C key during startup. Booting the computer from a System CD-ROM is a troubleshooting step, which should be used only to troubleshoot the computer for an operating-system issue.
