OL2000: Outlook Does Not Migrate Rules When You Upgrade (269781)

When you create rules with the Inbox Assistant in Microsoft Outlook 97, the rules may not migrate when you upgrade to Outlook 2000.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you use the Outlook 97 Inbox Assistant to create client-side rules for new messages.
RESOLUTIONA supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Outlook service pack that contains this hotfix. WORKAROUND
To resolve this problem, open the Rules Wizard in Outlook 2000, review your current rules, and then click OK.

Install the fix after you upgrade to Outlook 2000 and before you start the program. If you upgrade to Outlook 2000 and then start the program, the migration process begins and the fix does not work.
