Internet Explorer Does Not Save .htc File Referenced on HTML Page (269492)

When you save an HTML page in Internet Explorer, referenced .htc files are not saved.
CAUSE
When you save the file, Internet Explorer puts the following headers in the HTML page:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<!-- saved from url=(0031)http://server/test.htm -->
If you access the file locally, you receive an "Access Denied" error message
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, remove the inserted header and save the .htc file locally.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
