PIP: Images Are Distorted When You Print TIFF Files (269308)

SYMPTOMS

When you use one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article to print a Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) file, images in the file may be distorted on the printout.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if all of the following conditions are true:
  • You print the file to a Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 600C series printer.
  • The printer driver for your printer is outdated.
  • The TIFF file contains images that have been flipped, moved, or resized.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact the printer manufacturer to inquire about how to obtain and install the latest printer driver for your printer.

To determine the version of the printer driver that is installed on your computer:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer icon, and then click Properties.
  3. On the General tab or the Test tab, click Print Test Page.
  4. Note the version of the printer driver that is printed on the test page.
