When you try to connect to a secure conference, you may receive the following error message:
The other person did not allow you to join the meeting
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the client's NetMeeting program is sending the wrong certificate for authentication.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, install a certificate from a trusted certification authority (CA) that both the client and the server use and of which the client and server are a member. This can be either a trusted third-party CA or you can install and use a Microsoft Windows 2000 root CA in the Windows 2000 forest. This certificate contains a user alias and a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) address, (for example, Someone, Someone@ microsoft.com.), which is used to match the conference attendee list for authorization and participation.
To change the default NetMeeting certificate to the newly installed certificate: - Start NetMeeting.
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Security tab, and then click OK.
- Click the Use this certificate for privacy and authentication button, and then click the newly installed certificate.NOTE: If there is more than one certificate installed, click the Change button, and then click the certificate that you have newly installed.
- Click OK.
