All Programs Open in the Same-Sized Window (269127)

SYMPTOMS

When you open any program, Java window, or Internet window, you may find that all of these open in the same-sized window. You are unable to influence the window's size and position with any Microsoft Windows settings.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you have the Matrox G400 Dual Head video adapter installed in your computer. This adapter has a check box setting which, when selected, causes this behavior.

RESOLUTION

Open Matrox PowerDesk and click to clear the Save/restore windows position when programs are opened or closed check box.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior can occur on any operating system and with any program. it has been found to be particularly common on the Dell Workstation OEM version of Windows 2000 Professional.
