SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the voice chat feature in one of the games listed at the beginning of this article on a Windows NT 4.0-based computer, you receive the following error message:
Audio chat

Audio chat does not work on this version of DirectX.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Windows NT 4.0 does not include the DirectX support to use the voice chat feature.
