SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Windows Services for UNIX 2.0, you may receive the following error message:
Windows Installer - Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel.
You may also receive the following messages:
Windows Services For UNIX Installer Information - The beta version of Services for UNIX has expired.

Services For UNIX Installation: Fatal Error - Installation ended prematurely because of an error.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Beta version of Windows Services for UNIX has expired. When it expires, you cannot invoke Windows Installer to uninstall it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows Services for UNIX 2.0 Beta.
