Cannot Install SideWinder Software on Windows NT 4.0-Based Computer (268951)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install the Microsoft SideWinder Game Controller software version 4.0 on a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based computer, you receive the following error message:
The procedure entry point... could not get located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the SideWinder Game Controller software version 4.0 is not compatible with Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and earlier.

NOTE: The SideWinder Game Controller software version 4.0 and all Microsoft SideWinder game controllers are compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000.

Earlier versions of the SideWinder game controller software are not compatible with Windows 2000 and cannot be installed on Windows 2000-based computers.

MORE INFORMATION

The only SideWinder game controllers that are compatible with Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 are the SideWinder Standard and the SideWinder 3D Pro.
