Unable to use Direct3D with Nvidia Gforce drivers that are included with Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (268888)

SYMPTOMS
When you run Diablo II on a computer with an Nvidia Gforce video card using the video driver that is shipped with Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), the video becomes corrupt, and the game is unplayable when you use Direct3D mode. This behavior occurs after you run the introduction video.
CAUSE
This behavior is caused by the video driver that ships with Windows Me. There is an updated video driver available from NVidia.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, perform one of the following:
- Obtain the latest video drivers from the manufacturer.
-or-
- Disable Direct3D acceleration using the DirectX Diagnostic tool (Dxdiag) by performing the following steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.
- Click the Display tab.
- Click Disable next to "DirectDraw: Acceleration Enabled."
- Click Exit.
NOTE: Disabling Direct3D acceleration slows the overall performance.
