XL2000: Screen Saver Does Not Start When Excel Has Focus (268806)

SYMPTOMS

Your screen saver does not run when your mouse pointer is over an active Excel window. This behavior occurs whether the Excel window is maximized or not.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when all of the following conditions are true:
  • You are using Microsoft Windows 95.

    -and-
  • The mouse pointer is on the active Excel window.

    -and-
  • Excel has the current focus in Windows.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If any of the conditions in the "Cause" section is not true, the Windows 95 screen saver runs normally.
