CAUSE

This problem can occur when both of the following conditions are true:
  • The document contains a text box.
  • The document is saved as a Works 2000 (*.wps) file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, save to a different Works file format than the Works 2000 file format. For example, the Works 4.0 for Windows file format can be used by Works 2000 and most other programs that can read Works 2000 Word Processor documents.

To save a Works 6 Word Processor document as a Word 4.0 for Windows document, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click Save As.
  2. In the Save as type box, click Works 4.0 for Windows (*.wps).
  3. Type the name that you want in the File name box, and then click Save.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Works 6.
