When you export a Microsoft Windows Address Book that contains addresses and subfolders of addresses to another address book, only the root level folder, or Shared Contacts folder, is exported.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, copy the contents of all existing subfolders to the root level, and then export the address book to the location that you want. NOTE: The following steps may be slightly different according to the version of Outlook Express that you are using.
How to Store the Shared Contacts Folder in a Subfolder- Open the address book.
- On the File menu, point to New, click Folder, and then give the folder a descriptive name.
- Click main identities contacts folder.
- In the address book, click the first contact in the list.
- Press CTRL+A to select all of the contacts in the list.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Click the folder that you created in step 2.
- Click in the right side of the address book, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
- When each contact that you included in the copy procedure opens, click OK in each contact.
All of the Contacts in your address book are now stored in subfolders.

- Open the .csv file that you created in Microsoft Excel.
NOTES:
- You must repeat the copy procedure for each subfolder in your address book.
