ENT2001: The Subject Box Does Not Automatically Fill-In in Tasks or Notes (268681)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Entourage 2001 for Mac
  • Microsoft Exchange Update for Entourage X (Office v. X 10.1.4 Update)

This article was previously published under Q268681

SYMPTOMS

When you create either a task or note in Entourage and you want to use the same information in the Subject box as in a previous task or note, the Subject box does not automatically fill in.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because AutoComplete only works for e-mail addresses.

RESOLUTION

To create either a task or note that has the same information in the Subject box as a previous task or note:
  1. Click the task or note in the Tasks pane.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Duplicate Task or Duplicate Note. The duplicate item is created with the word "copy" (without quotation marks) appended to it.
  3. Click the title of the item, and then delete the text that you want to remove.
When you duplicate an item by using these steps, all attributes of the original item are retained. For example, the recurrence pattern of a task is the same as the original.
