SYMPTOMS

Entourage as a client on an Internet Messaging Access Protocol (IMAP) server does not support IMAP login referrals.

Login referrals is a feature on some IMAP server products that allows a given server to accept logins from clients and provides transparent access to mail folders on the client's home server. This feature can be useful when the home server cannot accommodate the request for login.

When the home server is not available, the referring server sends a message to the client that states that the new server is handling login and message access. Entourage does not support this process.
