ENT2001: Your Signature Is Not Preserved in Plain Text Messages (268658)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Entourage 2001 for Mac
- Microsoft Exchange Update for Entourage X (Office v. X 10.1.4 Update)
This article was previously published under Q268658 SYMPTOMS
When you define a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) signature file in Entourage by using either bulleted or numbered lists with paragraph-style indents, the indents are not preserved when you use the signature in a plain text message.
CAUSE
Styled text attributes are not preserved when you switch the message editor to plain text from HTML.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
When you use the signature in a plain text message, the indents are replaced by the chevron character ">" (without quotation marks). This is the same technique that is used to designate indented, quoted text when you use plain text to reply to messages.
