SYMPTOMS

When you send a large message that your e-mail server breaks into multiple parts, or if you specify that the messages are broken apart, Outlook recipients may not receive a correctly re-assembled message.

CAUSE

Break apart messages is not supported by the IMAP4 transport for any installation type of Outlook. This is a limitation of the IMAP4 transport.

RESOLUTION

Use Outlook Express with its POP3 Internet mail transport or use the Internet Mail Only installation of Outlook and its POP3 Internet mail transport to properly assemble messages that are broken apart.
