Microsoft Windows 2000 includes support for printing from a Windows 2000-based computer to a network printer via the AppleTalk protocol.
To configure a Windows 2000-based computer to print to an AppleTalk print device, you first must install the AppleTalk protocol. On a Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server, the AppleTalk Protocol is installed by default when File Service for Macintosh or Print Services for Macintosh is installed. If File Service for Macintosh or Print Services for Macintosh have not been installed, or if you are using a Windows 2000 Professional-based computer, follow these steps to verify that the AppleTalk Protocol is installed:

You may be asked whether you want to capture the AppleTalk print device. If you are prompted to do this and you are not sure how to respond, click the Help button and read the help file for an explanation of capturing AppleTalk print devices. - You are prompted to confirm the driver that you would like to use to print to this device. Complete the remainder of the wizard the same way you would add any other printer.
