SUMMARY

You may be unable to create a Money data file in a shared network folder.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior can occur if you connect to the shared network folder by using a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path.

To create a Money data file in a shared network folder, you must map the network drive where the folder is located. Because Money is not designed to create or work with files on a shared network folder, you may experience a loss of performance in Money if you try to run the Money data file from a network folder. To create a Money data file on a shared network folder, map the network drive that contains the folder where you want to create the Money data file:
  1. Right-click Network Neighborhood, and then click Map Network Drive.
  2. In the Drive box, click the drive letter that you want to use for the network drive.
  3. In the Path box, type \\computer\share, where computer is the name of the network computer that is configured to share the folder that you want, and share is the name of the shared folder that you want to use.
