When you install any of the Encarta programs listed at the beginning of this article, the following features are added to Word 2000.

Look Up Reference Command

A Look Up Reference command is added to the Tools menu in Word 2000. You can use this command to find a word or a phrase in the following programs:
  • Encarta Encyclopedia Online
  • Encarta World English Dictionary (CD Version)
  • Encarta World English Dictionary Online
NOTE: To use the online programs, you must be connected to the Internet.

Define Button

A Define button is added to the standard toolbar in Word 2000. Click this button to open the Microsoft Encarta World English Dictionary Online Web site.

NOTE: You must be connected to the Internet to use this feature.

To remove the Define button from the standard toolbar in Word 2000:
  1. Start Word 2000.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Templates and Add-Ins.
  3. Click to clear the Ewed.dot check box.
  4. Click OK.
